I use the Lenormand system. It is a divination technique that is younger than tarot, and originates from 1800s France, rather than Italy where Tarot is from. It is a much smaller deck with less room for error and misinterpretation, unlike traditional tarot.

Lenormand cards were named after French psychic, Madame Marie Anne Lenormand.

Madame Lenormand, was a diviner of Empress Josephine, Napoleon Bonaparte’s wife, and Tsar Alexander I of Russia.

It was said that she had predicted numerous events such as the French Revolution and the rise and fall of Napoleon. Her predictions made her suspicious to the public landing her in prison several times.

HOW THE READING WORKS
